  The type of man that doesn't take any thing from anyone. He is a serious guy that knows how to get a job done. Determined he won't stop until whatever he is doing is finished. Able to tell the difference between the fun times and the times when he needs to be serious about things. It isn't like him to goof around when doing something important even though he isn't a stick in the mud all the time he is mostly a serious man.

  Full of heart he'll run head first into a fiery pit if it is called upon him. He isn't completely stupid about things though as he knows when to retreat. He just allows his big heart to guide him through his fears. There is a saying about him one part brave, two parts fool. Just don't ever let him hear you saying it.

  Having soaked up as much as he could from the time he was born he learns fast. Being smart is very helpful and he knows to use his brain before doing something stupid. Able to figure stuff out quickly he almost always seems to have a plan.

  Being the son of a pirate was hard on him. He didn't see much of his father until he was about seven, but when he did go out on the seas with him he saw and did things that turned into a hard man. He keeps his emotions at bay very well, but even he has his rare times when his emotions get the best of him. Mostly after being allowed to bottle up for a long period of time. He doesn't expect everyone around him to be hard or emotionless. Just don't expect him to allow softness either.

  He isn't proud of all the things he had seen or done in his life, but he is a proud man. This shows in his work and how he keeps himself well kept. Although he doesn't care if he gets dirty. Now being that he is a proud creature doesn't mean he is cocky or has a big ego. No he can't stand those that are cocky about things or think that things are all about them. It does mean that if you insult him he will insult right back and dish out punishment if needed.

  Jerold is a private guy. Not meaning that he always wants to be left alone, but he doesn't want to talk about his past. So don't ask.

  To those that don't betray him he is a loyal friend. One that would give his life to protect those that he cares about. Be it his friends, family or a crew. He has a deep rooted loyalty to anyone he sees eye to eye with or who has gained his trust. However he doesn't just throw around his respect and loyalty to just anyone. No trust, respect and loyalty to him is earned not demanded.

  This goes hand and hand with his seriousness. He is a devoted man and very hard working to whatever he is doing. Call it stubbornness if you wish or strong willed. When he puts his mind to something he will never stop trying even if he has to retreat for a moment.

  He might control and hide his emotions, but one thing is for sure he can have quiet the temper. Able to snap if someone says the wrong thing or does the wrong thing he had to hold himself back from going into a rage. Sometimes he can't keep his rage at bay and when that happens either one of two things happen. If it is with someone he doesn't like he will attack them or if it is with someone he cares about he well excuse himself until he calms down before returning to the someone to talk to them about it.

History:

Jerold was born the same day as his younger twin brother Edward in Olivine, Johto. He came into the world being the son a a lovely nurse named Suzie and a frightful pirate named Captain William Vlack. Despite the fact that his father was a pirate his mother still said that they where in love a statement he would later find out was true. Anyways growing up life was rough for him as his mother was a nurse he would see those that came in. Both pokemon and the like. Oddly enough he wasn't disgusted by what he saw. He didn't really like it either, but blood never really bothered him.

When he was seven he and his brother where out with their mother one night when their father's ship came into port. They mother kept them out of sight as well as herself, but even that didn't last long as when Jerold's father found them he took both Jerold and his brother onto his ship. He doesn't know what happened to his mother. All he really remembers is being grabbed and waking up in the morning on the ship. That was the first time he had been on a pirate ship or any ship for that matter and unlike his brother he didn't get sea sick at all. He did miss his mother though.

Over the years he slaved away on his father's ship. Mopping and scrubbing the decks. Learning how to tie good knots, as well as learning how to do many different things on the ship. His father taught him how to use a sword, how to steer the ship as well as how to read the stars and a compass. Skills that he would later on be thankful for. When he was seventeen he lost his left eye in a sword fight with a military ship. He was lucky though they where close to Olivine and his mother. Edward made sure that Jerold didn't died before they got there.

Ones at the port he and his brother as well as some of the other crew that where wounded went to see Nurse Suzie. She didn't like what had happened and what had become of her two little seven year old boys, but none the less she patched them up as well as the rest of the crew. She couldn't save Jerold's eye though and had to remove the little that was left so that it didn't get infected. After that he had always worn a black eye patch which his brother said to him ones that it makes him look rather dashing.

Going back on the ship with his father Jerold worked for the old man until he was twenty six years old. His brother had jumped ship a few months before and so it was just his father, himself and the rest of the crew. His father was getting old, but stubbornly wouldn't give up his ship to his son. The crew never know what really happened, but one night when the captain was pretty sick and asleep Jerold came into his quarters and killed him. It was quick and he didn't as painlessly as he could with someone else's sword. The next morning he went into this father's quarters again and pretended to find him. Calling out to the crew that the captain had been murdered he took the sword that was in his father and called for the owner of it. It was the cooks a man that his father was very hard on for he was a bad cook.

Taking over a captain his first order of business was to tie the mans hands and feet together and attach cannonballs to the ropes before throwing him overboard. After that time he had spent the next year sailing around stealing from and sinking military ships.
