"Ahaha! You'll never catch me!"
The redhead boasted into the air upon the back of her Skarmory as they flew away from a crowd of military members. Juliette had nabbed a bag of rings from a small store, and now she was making her grand getaway. Oh the military, they could never stop her; she was just too cunning and fast for them. It was a good thing, because this way, Juliette could get away with so much stealing. If they were a little more challenging, then she would have to be more careful.
Towards the east they soared, until they reached the sandy beaches of the town. The Whirl Islands were in sight, but they didn't dare to travel near those; Juliette didn't want to be swept away by the twisting whirlpools. For now, they would rest until the military realized where she was, then off they would head, towards the north to safety. She could fight them, but Juliette figured that Aquila would need a break from battling. Calista, her Meowth, didn't really seem too keen about battling, so running was her best option.
"A ship would be nice right about now... So you could have a break, Aquila."
Juliette commented, patting the steel bird's head. He let out a gentle caw, agreeing with his master. Sure, he enjoyed long flights, but it would nice if some other sort of vessel could carry him around every once in awhile. However, a ship around these waters probably wouldn't be too safe. The thought of being whisked away by a whirlpool lingered in Juliette's mind everytime she came around here, even though she had never been close to the raging water.
The Meowth on her shoulder finally stretched, seeming to wake up from her nice nap. The cat Pokemon's eyes flickered a bit as Juliette glanced at her through her peripherals. A small sigh escaped the female mouth, then she glanced back to the sea.
"And you, Calista, you need to stop being so lazy. Someday you are gonna have to help Aquila and I get out of some tough situations."

The two of them had been stationed in Cianwood for a few days now, and Jakome still did not know why. Questions lurked within his head, causing irritation that his Electabuzz picked up on. The energy flowing from his partner was sharp, and it made the yellow creature's skin crawl. Why would the military force of Johto send him - a damn Sergeant, First Class - on a random little errand? There were plenty of peons around to do the dirty work for the navy, and to have the responsibility lay upon him was making his blood boil. They were patrolling the port city slowly, having spent a good portion of the morning simply basking in the sun while at a saloon. The one perk of being in the military (that Jakome could see, anyways) was the free drinks. Barkeeps were always eager to stay on the good side of the navy, especially when they expected pirates to visit their ports. It may have been better that the young man had spent all his time at the bar, then, and it would surely explain his current predicament.
You see, Jakome and Ramiel were not at the saloon anymore. The man was, in fact, waking up with a faceful of sand and a mouthful of sea water. He spat the mixture out as he rose to his knees, realizing that he had an empty bottle in one hand, and a raging pain in his head. "That explains things." He muttered, standing up to his full height in the sand (he was still a bit wobbly, but sand wasn't the greatest surface to walk on anyways). Jakome didn't bother to wipe the sand from his uniform, and instead began to look out to the sea. There were ships in the distance - there were always ships in the distance. However, that wasn't all he saw.
A shine caught his attention, but the form was moving quickly towards him. The military lifestyle had left him with specific instincts that came in to play when things got out of hand, or just plain strange - such as now, as a great metal bird made of knives and rapiers landed not too far from him. Someone jumped from it's back, which both surprised and unnerved him. This creature was an entire armory of military might, and this human - a female, no less - rode it like it was some kind of throne. "You there, what are you doing." Jakome called, taking a few steps towards the stranger. His voice was commanding, a little arrogant, and the words slurred ever so subtly.
"-ou are gonna have to help Aquila and I get out of some tough situations." What? Was the girl talking to him? No, he realized after a moment that she was preoccupied with some of her pets. No matter! The man had a pet of his own - but wait, where was that ridiculous Pokemon? A frown creased Jakome's face for a brief moment as he looked behind himself, then in to the surrounding sand. Well, shit. His partner had gone and gotten lost.

Peace was about to be disturbed by the entrance of another male, and worst of all, this guy was apart of the military. He wasn't rushing up to her like the other members of the military were, and she didn't feel like making a scene at the moment. Perhaps this guy wasn't aware of who she was? That was doubtful; she was certain that this guy had heard about her and her crimes. Nonetheless, she would play things cool and try to not draw any attention to herself.
"What do you want?"
The female questioned, facing the newcomer and crossing her arms. He appeared to be alone, suggesting that he had no Pokemon. Well, that was kind of useless. A small smirk formed across her face as the male grimaced and looked behind him; maybe he had a cowardly partner who didn't want to face her? That was no fun.
The Skarmory beside her clenched his talons in the warm sand, rocking back and forth a bit. He was waiting for Juliette's orders to attack this guy, as she had usually done with most of the military members. He always liked a good fight, although fighting a person wouldn't be nearly as challenging as fighting a Pokemon.
"I'm surprised you came here by yourself."
Juliette added, in a taunting tone. Her eyes narrowed a bit, waiting to see what the military guy would do. Would he be smart and run away with his life, or would he continue to trouble the pirate, and learn to regret it later?
